for power generation with renewable energy sources

Offshore wind farms require a number of cables to transmit electricity from the wind turbines to the offshore substation and then to the onshore grid. The types of cables used in offshore wind farms include power, control, and communication cables specifically designed for harsh weather conditions and the corrosive effects of saltwater.

Marmon IEI provides cables for the offshore wind industry that ensure reliability and safety. Control cables transmit signals and data between the turbines and the offshore substation require low voltage direct current (LVDC) cables. And communication cables transmit data and signals between the offshore substation and the onshore grid.

All of these types of cables must be able to withstand the harsh weather conditions and the corrosive effects of saltwater. This requires them to have a high mechanical strength, including a high tensile strength and a high resistance to bending and crushing. Additionally, the cables used in offshore wind farms need to be resistant to the corrosive effects of saltwater. This requires them to be made of materials that are resistant to corrosion, such as copper, aluminum, or special coatings, as well as have good insulation properties to prevent electrical current from leaking out and causing accidents.

Marmon IEI understands the extreme challenges associated with offshore wind energy production and provides cables and solutions to withstand these conditions. This includes using materials that are recyclable and minimizing the generation of waste and pollution.
