EPRI Cable User Group

June 6-8, 2023 – Richland, WA

The EPRI Cable User Group meeting invites members, researchers, cable manufacturers, such as Marmon IEI and service providers to network, engage, and share cable aging management implementation issues, best practices, research needs, and operating experiences during the roundtable. Updates are provided on on-going research for topics such as Cable Shield Effects, Low Voltage Test Methodologies or more recently completed research. Presentations are provided by industry experts and members on a variety of related topics such as IEEE standard updates and more.

The Plant Engineering program performs research activities that address key equipment issues and the effectiveness of plant engineering programs to inform decisions related to the continued safe, reliable, and efficient operation of nuclear power plants. Active and ongoing research includes but is not limited to: component aging and mitigation (flow-accelerated corrosion, electric cables, buried piping, cathodic protection, nuclear grade coatings, electric relays); system reliability (offsite power, emergency power, single point vulnerabilities); plant performance (heat exchangers, transformers, service water system, plant thermal performance); and other engineering and operational support areas (procurement engineering, seismic qualification, workforce and skills development).
